If you are having problems with the 4hOnline Enrollment, here are some Q&As that may help.
Confirmed Members: Youth and Adult
I've confirmed a youth/adult and now I can't find them in the Confirm Members list or the Members list. What happened to their information?
Once you confirm a member via the "Confirm Members" list, they should no longer appear on that list but should now appear on the "Members" list. There is a glitch in the 4hOnline system that causes individual records to not appear on the Members list after being confirmed.
To see the record for those individuals, you must use the "Search" page and type in their (last or first) name then click on the search button. OR you can run a list of all of the individuals in your club that have a pending status by first making sure all of the search criteria boxes and fields are empty then placing a checkmark in the "Pending" box and click the search button. You should now have a list of all the people that were missing from the Members list.
Once the County 4-H Office has completed the enrollment process for an individual, their status will change from pending to "Active", then the individual should appear in your Members list.
I did the online registration, but it says "pending"...am I finished?
As long as, after completing the online process; you have completed the paper forms (2 for Youth & 3 for Adults) & submitted them to your Enrollment Specialist with payment & any other steps the Club needs from you, then you are finished with your part in enrolling.
Your status will remain as "Pending" until the Club completes their process & then the 4-H Office completes theirs after the Club. Once the 4-H Office process is complete, then your status will change to "Active".
No member will officially be re-enrolled until we (club leaders) give our approval, right? You’ll send us an email or something so we can confirm them, right? I’m asking because I don’t want anyone to be officially re-enrolled until they’ve paid. I don’t want our club to be billed for members that didn’t pay us.
Correct they won’t be officially re-enrolled; in addition to me going in & “approving” them once I receive the required paperwork from you for each individual.
Member / Volunteer enrolls on-line, downloads & prints the required forms (Medical Release, Waiver of Liability & the Volunteer Confidential Self-Disclosure)
Member / Volunteer turns completed required forms in to their Club Leader / Enrollment Specialist.
Club Leader / Enrollment Specialist review the forms for completeness then goes into the 4hOnline system & “Confirms” that person. NOTE: When you pull up the persons’ record, they’ll have a status of “Pending” until you click on “Confirm” for them.
Club Leader / Enrollment Specialist turns completed required forms in to the 4-H Office.
I’ll review the forms as well, then I’ll access 4hOnline & verify that you’ve “Confirmed” the person, I’ll then “Approve” them. NOTE: Once I “Approve” a Member / Volunteer, you will then see that they have a status of “Active”. I Will Not “Approve” anyone until I have received ALL the required completed paperwork from the Club Leader and see that the Club Leader has “Confirmed” them.
Entering & Updating Information
Can I have the Project Leaders enter the members in their project in the 4hOnline Program?
No. Club Information Access is Restricted to the Club Leaders & Enrollment Cordinator (Specialist) only.
Since we don’t meet in July (which I was thinking will be the month that they’ll be enrolling online), I thought I’d give members 2 options:
They can either pay me at our last meeting in June (and then we’d just hold their check until we hear from you that they’ve signed up online)
They can mail me their check (again, I would hold it until I hear from you that they’ve signed up online.)
Do both of those options sound OK to you? (I don’t want to break any 4-H rules…)
Both of these options are fine.
Java Script Error
"Every time I try to get on theCalifornia4-H website, I get a "message from wesite - java script error". Is this anything you've ever heard of as being a problem with the website?"
Yes. Thank you for your question & assistance in finding a better solution to this situation. The problem is with computers that have been upgraded to Internet Explorer 8, all other web browsers appear to be working fine at this time. Follow these quick steps to cease this java script error;
- Go to https://california.4honline.com
- Click on "Tools"
- Click on "compatibility View Settings"
- 4honline.com should already appear in the "Add this website" field, if it doesn't appear there, type it in then click "Add". 4honline.com should now appear in the "Websites you've added to Compatibility "View" box.
- Click "Close"
Now you are ready to sign into 4honline & you should not be receiving this java script error.
Password: Temporary received, system wants me to select a County
I forgot my password, I used the "I forgot my password" function, I received my temporary password via e-mail, I'm in the system & it is asking me to select a County but there isn't anyplace to select one. What do I do?
The upper portion of your screen should have a "My Member List" link, click on it & the screen should change to allow you to update your password.
The problem has been reported 7/8/11; we are waiting for the fix.
I was able to enroll my kids online, but it would not put my status to pending. Do you know if I need to fill out a form like I did for my kids?
Adults & Youth have to complete the paper packet as well as the online process.
The reason the Status didn't change to "Pending" is do to clicking the "Continue" button rather than clicking the "Submit Enrollment" button when on page 3 of the online enrollment.
You must go back in and click on the "Submit Enrollment" button so that your status will change to Pending.
