Program Development Committees (PDCs)
PDCs are standing committees that report to the Ventura County 4-H Council and specialize in specific program areas. These efficient and focused committees, help generate events, project curriculum development and much more. The PDCs include:
- Equine PDC
- Large Livestock PDC
- Small Animal Sciences PDC
- Skills Development PDC
- Family & Consumer Sciences PDC
- STEAM PDC

Small Animal Sciences PDC
Program areas for this PDC include poultry, rabbits, guinea pigs, pocket pets, dogs, pygmy goats and other animals not included in the program areas of other PDCs. The Small Animal Sciences (SAS) PDC is a core group of individuals who work to help identify small animal care and showmanship educational resources to address local needs within the 4-H community.

Large Livestock PDC
The Large Livestock PDC is a core group of individuals who help identify educational resources to address local needs and issues within the 4-H livestock community. The Large Livestock PDC program includes the care and showmanship skills of Heifers/Beef, Swine, Goats, and Sheep.

Skills Development PDC
The Skills PDC oversees the program areas of record keeping and public speaking. This group provides guidance in preparing Record Books, conducts the County Record Book Competition, and organizes Ventura County Presentation Day.

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) PDC will include Expressive Arts, Environmental and Earth Science, Biological and Plant Science as well as Technology and Engineering.
