Program Development Committees (PDCs)
Program Development Committees serve as standing committees reporting to the Ventura County 4-H Council, specializing in a specific program area. Program offerings, events, project curriculum development and more can be accomplished in these efficient and focused committees. The PDCs include:
- Equine PDC
- Large Livestock PDC
- Small Animal Sciences PDC
- Skills Development PDC
- Family & Consumer Sciences PDC
- Science PDC
If you are interested in participating through a PDC, please contact the chair directly, or the 4-H Council at email@example.com for committees currently seeking PDC leadership.
The Equine PDC program includes all areas of horsemanship.

Family & Consumer Sciences PDC
Program areas included in the Family & Consumer Sciences PDC are Foods & Nutrition, Cake Decorating, Clothing & Textiles, Family Studies, Fiber Arts, Health & Wellness, Home Environment, etc. The Family & Consumer Sciences PDC is a core group of individuals who work as a committee to help identify educational resources to address local needs and issues within the 4-H community.

Small Animal Sciences PDC
Program areas include poultry, rabbits, guinea pigs, pocket pets, dogs, pygmy goats and other animals not included in the program areas of other PDCs. The Small Animal Sciences (SAS) PDC is a core group of individuals who work as a committee to help identify small animal care and showmanship educational resources to address local needs within the 4-H community.

Large Livestock PDC
The Large Livestock Program Development Committee (PDC) is a core group of individuals who help identify educational resources to address local needs and issues within the 4-H livestock community. The Large Livestock PDC program includes the care and showmanship skills of Heifers/Beef, Swine, Goats, and Sheep.
- Meets quarterly, 1st Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
2016: October 5
2017: January 4, May 3 and July 5

Please park in the Briggs Road parking lot and allow 5 minutes or more to walk to the facility. If you need assistance walking the approximate 200 yards to the Small Barn, please make advance arrangements (Annabel Faris, VC 4-H Program Coordinator, 525.9293 x 206).
