4-H Ventura County

COVID-19 Ventura County Operations Information

To reduce the risk of COVID-19 virus spread, the UCCE Ventura County office and Hansen Agricultural REC will be closed until further notice in accordance with UC guidelines and the Ventura County Stay Well at Home order. UC academics and staff will continue to work remotely during normal business hours. All UC ANR-hosted meetings/events scheduled through June 2021 have been canceled, postponed or will be conducted via Zoom.

We are currently in Purple Tier:

  • UC 4-H limits outdoor in-person activities to only 10 individuals total: 8 youth and 2 adults maximum. Of the 2 adults, one MUST be an approved 4-H volunteer.
  • Club / Project leaders must get approval to hold outdoor in-person meetings by submitting this form.
  • Indoor in-person activities are not permitted in the Purple Tier.

We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation as it unfolds and will update the website accordingly. If you have questions or concerns, email us at hansencevc@ucanr.edu.
Thanks for understanding and stay well.

Director UCCE Ventura/HAREC

Welcome! What is 4-H?
4-H is an exciting educational program for youth ages 5 to 19. Through hands-on learning and positive youth-adult partnerships, youth acquire knowledge and develop life skills that enable them to find and focus their energy into their passions while also giving back to the community.
The 4-H Youth Development Program is administered by the University of California Cooperative Extension, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and county government. The first 4-H club began in Ohio in 1902. Ventura County 4-H started in the early 1900s.
