For the past nine years, California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom has produced a newspaper-style booklet designed to inform youth how agriculture impacts their lives each and every day. This year’s edition is designed to encourage healthy meals in school cafeterias, support for local farmers and improved nutrition. The message and learning take place on every fun-filled page.
Developed by educators and reviewed by agricultural industry experts this learning tool provides factual information while meeting California Board of Education Content Standers for students in grades 3-8.
While aimed at youth many adults are likely to learn a great deal too. Interesting facts along with activities and questions to engage the brain are sprinkled throughout.
This wonderful resource, and previous editions, can be found electronically by clicking here. Classroom sets can also be ordered at the site and will be shipped to any California educator at no cost.
