California farms produce over half of the nation’s domestic supply of fruit, nuts and vegetables. Ventura County agricultural production shows strong in several key areas of state and nationwide ranking.

For instance, did you know that approximately 20% of our principal farm operators are women?
In 2007 the market value of agricultural products sold in our county exceeded $1.3 billion, a 29% increase over 2002.
By value of agricultural product sales, our county ranked #9 statewide (out of 58), and #10 nationwide (out of 3,076). When the value of nursery and greenhouse crops are included, we rank #4 both sate and nationwide.
