Small Farm Program in SLO and Santa Barbara
Hello From the Small Farm Program in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties!
Kirsten Pearsons and Maria Orozco have recently joined the Small Farm Program in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. The UC Small Farm Program is a team of UCCE Advisors and Community Educators that serve small-scale farmers across California. As an advisor and community educator team, Kirsten and Maria will provide local farmers with:
- On-farm Consultations
- Technical Assistance
- Food Safety Outreach
- Educational Outreach
- Applied Research
- Extension Publications and Resources
- And more!
In addition to supporting small-acreage farms, the two will work with local partners and other CE Advisors to support highly diversified family farms, farmers that grow unique specialty crops, and limited-resource farmers including beginning, immigrant, and refugee farmers.
