Why: Apply for CDFA funding- State Water efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) and Healthy Soils Program (HSP).Receive up to $100,000 in grant funding to improve your on-farm water and energy efficiency and healthy soil practices through the grant funding programs. During the workshop irrigation specialists will:
- Provide a comprehensive review of SWEEP/HSP and summary of other CDFA Climate Smart Grant programs
- Guide you through the required water savings and greenhouse gas reduction calculations
- Show you how to assemble a strong grant proposal

The SWEEP/HSP provides financial assistance in the form of grants to implement irrigation systems that reduce greenhouse gases and save water on California agricultural operations. Eligible system components include (among others) soil moisture monitoring, drip systems, switching to low pressure irrigation systems, pump retrofits, variable frequency drives and installation of renewable energy to reduce on-farm water use and energy.

The California Department of Food & Agriculture (CDFA) is NOW accepting
applications for the HEALTHY SOILS PROGRAM!
This program provides cost-share to farmers and ranchers to implement soil health practices, including compost application, cover cropping, prescribed grazing, and much, much more!
The Ventura County Resource Conservation District will be hosting application assistance workshops to help :
Ranchers, vineyards, orchards, row crops, and mixed operations are all eligible
The max grant amount is $75,000

STATE WATER EFFICIENCY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM (SWEEP) Application Period is NOW OPEN!
SWEEP reimburses agricultural operations for projects that reduce BOTH greenhouse gas emissions and water use. Projects can include new pumps, irrigation system upgrades, soil sensors, valves, timers, and much more!
Ranches, vineyards, orchards, row crops, and potted plant operations are eligible to apply
Reimbursement max is $100,000
